What is required to become a licensed ND?

Becoming a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) requires a specific course of study and examinations:

1. Education:

   • Earn a bachelor's degree, preferably in a science field like biology or chemistry.

   • Graduate from a four-year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) program accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME).

2. Examinations:

   • Pass the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) offered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE). This covers various medical knowledge areas.

3. State Licensure:

   • Each state has specific requirements for ND licensure.

   • Generally, it involves passing an additional state exam and fulfilling any continuing education mandates.
