Personal Story
Dr. Camila Herrera was born in California, raised in Florida, and lived in New York for a few years before relocating to Washington state. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience/Neuroscience Research. Having grown up in the Florida swamp and on the white sandy beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast, Dr. Herrera was exposed to rich biodiversity and wildlife from an early age. Her deep respect for nature continued to grow alongside her fascination for science. This combination of passions eventually led her to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. After completing a Post-Baccalaureate Program in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University, she was ready to embark on her journey to become a naturopathic physician. In 2021, she earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master's in Acupuncture and East-Asian Medicine from Bastyr University. Dr. Herrera recently completed her residency program in integrative primary care at Cascade Integrative Medicine and currently works as a licensed acupuncturist at Little Si Acupuncture & East-Asian Medicine Clinic. She is part of the Naturopathic Academy of Primary Care Physicians (NAPCP), American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. (AANP), Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP), and Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP).
As a first-generation Salvadoran-American, Dr. Herrera is passionate about making naturopathic medicine and acupuncture accessible to underserved Latino communities. She has provided free naturopathic medical care at El Consejo Counseling Center to Spanish-speaking Latino communities of Seattle, WA.
In her free time, she loves cooking nourishing meals, exploring the outdoors through hiking, camping, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, soaking up beach days, moving her body with functional strength training and dance (belly dance, salsa, and bachata), enjoying live music, traveling, and most of all spending meaningful time with her son.
